Access routes are blocked by security forces AND burning buses, vehicles, etc. There was apparently other shootouts in different parts of the city.
According to the testimonies, the events have occurred in the vicinity of the Forum Square , the departure to Los Mochis , in the University City and in the Libertad neighborhood . In other videos, they also report such events in the Malecon and in the Obregón neighborhood.
The call for people, who have had to flee in terror from the streets, is to take refuge where they can and not leave for any reason .
Federal authorities would have achieved Thursday the arrest of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
The arrest of the alleged offender could have been the cause of the intense confrontation between armed and military civilians. It transpires that an armed group tried to free Guzman, which caused the fray with federal forces.
So far, federal authorities have not confirmed the arrest of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán.
The Sinaloa authorities have indicated that they have no information to confirm or deny the alleged detention of the son of “El Chapo”.
The only official confirmation is about the the escape of about twenty prisoners from the Aguaruto Prison in Culiacán.
There are even quite a few people who remain locked in stores and cannot leave due to the different shootings that have been registered in the Sinaloense capital.
Local media reports that early versions indicate that these clashes were allegedly due to the capture of the son of “El Chapo” Guzmán, so armed commandos tried to rescue him and attacked military unit vans.
The cybernaut Manuel Cárcamo, who in his description claims to be a criminal lawyer. He wrote on his Twitter account: “Terrible what happens in Culiacán. Be careful and do not leave your homes. ”
While the communicator Juan Pablo Pérez Díaz published in this same way a video taken by another journalist, at the exact moment that a shooting takes place in this city, while he is hiding behind a vehicle.
“There is a shooting, a strong confrontation at this time, we do not know how many dead there are,” said the author of the video.
Three levels of Government have issued statements urging Culiacán citizens to remain calm, stay inside wherever they are.
